About Be One

From the Founder

Dear Friends,

Ever since I was a child, I have been dedicated to activities that improved my health. Playing sports as a youngster, I soon became aware of the relationship between physical wellness and mental and spiritual clarity.  By the time I was 20 I was a well-established personal trainer.  However, something was missing.  I realize that I was only able to help people who were already motivated to be physically fit.

I knew the benefits I had from being is good shape, I knew what it did for me personally.  I saw a direct relationship between my awareness of life around me and my personal fitness.  I became innately aware of stress in my life through its manifestations in me physically.  Emotions and relationships were enhanced when I felt good physically, and adversely affected when I didn’t.

I wanted others to have this awareness as well.  So began my career as a Physical Therapist.  Through Physical Therapy, not only have I been able to ease pain, I have been able to change the emotional well-being of individuals, restore their productivity and ultimately their self-esteem.

I am more excited now about Physical Therapy than I was 20 years ago.  The direction we have chosen to take as a practice is exhilarating.  At Atlantis Physical Therapy Group, Inc. we are now incorporating the age-old Healing Arts of Yoga, Dance, and Martial Arts, combined with modern systems such as Pilates and Gyrotonics at Be One, our newest facility in Roxbury.  By using these modalities with traditional physical therapy, we have the opportunity to unite cultures and practices in a way that transforms Physical Therapy into a vehicle for the Renaissance of the human body.

Of course, we will continue to treat individuals who are in pain or need rehabilitation, but now I have come full circle.  I am back to making people physically fit, but instead of using iron I am using culture.

I hope you enjoy this website.  Be One is a beautiful thing.

Sincerely,

Igor Yatskar, M.S., P.T.
